From the land of the Sassi, your 140 km journey with 3,500 meters of elevation gain begins, taking you on a long adventure to discover the Terra delle Gravine. Between Basilicata and Puglia, the route is challenging, with many single tracks running alongside and crossing some of the largest canyons in Europe.
The final part of the course will gently lead you towards the sea, with the last kilometers unfolding along the beautiful beach of Castellaneta Marina.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
To collect race bibs, athletes must come in person with a valid ID and show the QR code they recive few days before the race date.
Race bibs will be handed to registered athletes only. Delegating this task to others is not allowed.
If your registration is incomplete or your medical certificate not valid, you will not be able to collect your bib and take the start.
SCHEDULE OF BIB COLLECTION HERE
At bib collection, you will receive a 30L UTMB World Series bag, which you can use to store items.
Please note: Only one bag per runner is allowed. The organization will not accept any personal bags that are not the official UTMB World Series bag.
You will leave your drop bag at the start of the race. On-site signage will indicate the designated drop-off area. You will find your bag at the Il Casone aid station, and again at the finish line.
Athletes must attach the bib number sticker, provided with their race bib, to the bag.
Only bags provided by the organisers will be transported to the life base.
The organisation cannot guarantee when the bags will be returned to storage.
Under no circumstances will the organisers send uncollected bags to athletes’ residences. Athletes are advised not to place valuable items in their bags. In any case, the organisers accept no liability for theft, loss, or damage to bags or their contents.
The organization provides bus services from Castellaneta Marina to Matera to allow runners and spectators to reach the start line. Reservation is mandatory.
