Ginosa Rivolta Trail
A 35 km route with 350 m of elevation gain through the heart of the Terra delle Gravine, the lesser-known side of Puglia: not just olive groves and coastline, but canyons carved into limestone rock, villages suspended over the void, and villages that hold centuries of history. It starts from Ginosa, whose historic center overlooks a ravine that wraps around it for 10 kilometers in a horseshoe shape. The race takes its name from Rivolta, one of two rock-hewn villages you pass along the way: houses, cisterns and rock churches inhabited until just a few decades ago, watched over from above by the Norman Castle since the 11th century.
The route crosses this landscape all the way to the mouth of the Lato river, where Puglia's land meets the water, before opening onto the Ionian coast.
The finish line awaits you at Castellaneta Marina, with the sea closing a route that is the perfect entry point into this authentic and surprising side of Puglia.
